Many people buy lagostina brand cookware due to the looks and some of them being italian made. The question is, will you still be able to use them if you get an induction range? Like all cookware, it depends. Regardless of which one you have as described below, the best way is to put a kitchen magnet to the bottom of your pot or pan. If it sticks, it works on induction.
Anodized Aluminum
The anodizes aluminum cookware set by Lagostina will not work on an induction range. If you look on the bottom you will see its pure aluminum and does not have an embedded piece of stainless steel like our recommended aluminum cookware set.

Stainless Steel
If you have the Lagostina Asia Tri-Ply stainless Steel cookware set you are in luck. That set is induction compatible. Whether you go for the glass top or the stainless steal tops, they are compatible with an induction range.
Copper
If you have the Lagostina copper cookware sets I have some bad news for you. They are beautiful pots but unfortunately, the stainless steel they used is not magnetic meaning it won’t work on an induction cooktop.
Don’t throw away everything
It is important to realize that the induction is ONLY for the cooktop, not for the oven itself. The over works just like a normal oven through radiant heating. The good thing is the oven quality is much better on an induction compared to a cheap radiant range you might buy.
So even if you can’t use them on the cooktop, the larger pots can still be used in your oven. And they make great display pieces for serving at the table.
Hi I have an older Lagostina Pots Set. These are probably about 14 – 15 years old.
Verbania T04S is on the bottom of the pots. What i would like to know is are these pots Safe to use on an induction Stove Top.
Best way is to stick a magnet to the bottom. If a magnet sticks, it will work on induction. if a magnet does not stick, it will not work on induction.
Hi ‘ saw a Lagostina all clad stainless steel saute/shallow pan with 2 handles in TKMaxx with hob symbols on box showing for ceramic, but does that include use on halogen hob please? was no mention of halogen nor a separate symbol. No staff to check. Thanks
I have 2 older sets of lagostina. Both are the Vienna set. Both my husband and I bought them in the 90s before we got together. They look and feel identical but get this, one is magnetic and works on our new induction top, and the other is not. Now explain that one to me.
I have two sets of stainless steel pots and pans. One is magenetic, the other is not. Same thing, with some of the five ply stainless. It all just depends if they use the magnetic stainless or not.
I would love to buy your Lagostina Vienna cookware set.I am in Ottawa, Ontario.
